Durham Bulky Waste

The date is Saturday, September 17th and the time is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Durham Eureka Community Center Field. Durham residents only. You must show a drivers license or a utility bill with current Durham address. To facilitate offloading, light and small loads will get priority.
No commercial waste, no garbage or household trash, no recyclable items, no hazardous wastes and no car batteries. ACCEPTED: Refrigerators and air conditioners (must be red-tagged to show Freon has been removed), appliances, furniture, mattresses and box springs, large metal items, scrap, storm doors, outdoor furniture, large plastic items, and toys. No dump truck tires or loader tires. Passenger car tire are $3.00 each/pick-up truck tires are $6.00 each. You amy prepay at the Town Office(Bring receipt with you to the collection) or pay for the tires at the collection.
Other places to take your items:
Regional Environmental Depot in Lewiston on two Saturday mornings a month will accept household cleaners, oil-based paints, solvents, insecticides and gasoline. Contact the Town Office to get a voucher or go to www.avcog.org, or call 783-9186 for more information.
The Freeport Recycling Center will take your building debris, brush (no stumps), Freon-containing appliances, shingles and oil, all for a fee. For more information and hours call 865-3740.
There will be NO Universal Waste collection at the Fall clean up. Universal wastes aretelevisions, monitors, computers under 26 inches, fluorescent light bulbs and batteries. Non-alkaline batteries can go in your regular trash.
Special Note: For no fee, Goodwill Industries will take your TV and computer monitors/accessories.
