Memorial Day Parade

Come Join us for the Memorial Day Parade!

Parade Registration

The line up starts at 9:00 am on Davis Road for a 10:00 am kick off.

The Parade route starts at the corner of Davis Road and Royalsborough Road, heads south on Royalsborough Road (rte 136), pauses at the Sawyer Cemetery and ends at the Durham Community School.

The Town of Durham, Maine is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of mechanic.  This position is responsible for the scheduling and maintenance of Town Vehicles as requested.  Candidate will be expected to be available to plow during winter weather events.  Must hold a valid Class B CDL with a clean and safe driving record.  The town offers competitive wages and benefit package.  A complete job description and application are available at the Town Office or online at

Annual Tortoise and Hare 5K Run/Walk has been rescheduled to Sunday, April  30th

Support the Freeport High School Track Team by joining us for the 8th Annual Tortoise and Hare 5K Run/Walk!  This fun event starts and ends at Bow Street Market on Saturday,  April 1.  Prizes are awarded to the “Hares” or the fastest in various age groups, and the “tortoises”, or the person that can closest predict their time in various male and female age groups.  Overall male and female winners will receive a $100 Bow Street Market Cash Card.

Pre-registration before March 31 – $20.00 at
Day of race registration 8 a.m. – $25.00 (Cash)

Literacy Volunteers-Androscoggin 19th Annual “Letters for Literacy” Scrabble Fest,

Sunday, April 23, 2017, 12:30-4 PM, at the Carriage House, 1119 Lisbon St., Lewiston, Maine

Teams collaborate using the same letter tray and compete in a round-robin format for three rounds of Scrabble. Players obtain pledges (similar to a walk-a-thon). The minimum for a team to participate is $60.00, or $15.00 per participant. There are great prizes for the players who raise the most money for Literacy Volunteers.
