Durham Fire and Rescue is looking for a few people who would be interested in helping out during EMS week (May 24th) and Fire Prevention week (2nd wk. in Oct.) presentations. No Fire/Rescue or teaching experience necessary. Please contact us at 353-2473, we would appreciate any assistance from the public in continuing this valuable Safety and Fire prevention program.

Let the FHS Boys Varsity Lacrosse team

Teams of 2 – 4 students are available to help with: Debris pick up, Weeding/Raking, Planting, Pruning, Mowing, Other services!
Cost – $10/hr per student

The line up starts at 9:00 am on Davis Road for a 10:00 am kick off.

The Parade route starts at the corner of Davis Road and Royalsborough Road, heads south on Royalsborough Road (rte 136), pauses at the Sawyer Cemetery and ends at the Durham Community School.

Large clear trash bags are available at the Town Office for roadside trash pickup.  Pine Tree will recognize these clear bags and pick them up until the 3rd week in May.

Annual Tortoise and Hare 5K Run/Walk has been rescheduled to Sunday, April  30th

Support the Freeport High School Track Team by joining us for the 8th Annual Tortoise and Hare 5K Run/Walk!  This fun event starts and ends at Bow Street Market on Saturday,  April 1.  Prizes are awarded to the “Hares” or the fastest in various age groups, and the “tortoises”, or the person that can closest predict their time in various male and female age groups.  Overall male and female winners will receive a $100 Bow Street Market Cash Card.

Pre-registration before March 31 – $20.00 at
Day of race registration 8 a.m. – $25.00 (Cash)
