Memorial Day Parade

Come Join us for the Memorial Day Parade!
Parade Registration

The line up starts at 9:00 am on Davis Road for a 10:00 am kick off.

The Parade route starts at the corner of Davis Road and Royalsborough Road, heads south on Royalsborough Road (rte 136), pauses at the Sawyer Cemetery and ends at the Durham Community School.

TOWN OF DURHAM MECHANIC POSITION

The Town of Durham, Maine is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of mechanic.  This position is responsible for the scheduling and maintenance of Town Vehicles as requested.  Candidate will be expected to be available to plow during winter weather events.  Must hold a valid Class B CDL with a clean and safe driving record.  The town offers competitive wages and benefit package.  A complete job description and application are available at the Town Office or online at durhamme.com.

Roadside Trash Pickup

Large clear trash bags are available at the Town Office for roadside trash pickup.  Pine Tree will recognize these clear bags and pick them up until the 3rd week in May.

7th Annual Main Street Mile

Nike Factory Store is thrilled to support the 7th annual Main Street Mile, which benefits the Freeport Running Boosters.  Gather your friends and family and meet us on Memorial Day for a fun filled run/walk down Main Street, then stay for the parade!  This race is for all abilities and ages!

Trophies to 1st and 2nd male/female in the following age groups:  6 and under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14.  Prizes to the 1st and 2nd male/female in the following age groups: 15-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and above.

Pre-registration: $10.00 per individual or $8.00 per runner for immediate family of 4 or more.  Online registration fee of $2.75 per runner will be added to the entry fee in the online shopping cart.   Register online at www.runinarace.com.
Day of race registration: 7:00 – 7:30 a.m., $15.00 individual or $10 per family member of 4 or more (Cash)
Number Pick-up prior to the race is at the Nike Factory Store at Freeport Village Station on Saturday, May 27th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday the 28th,  12:00 – 4:00 p.m. and on Race Day the 29th from 7:00-7:30 a.m.
Short Sleeve T-shirt to the first 100 registered runners.

Maine-at-Work Initiative

The Maine-at-Work Initiative (MAWI) is a project by the Maine Department of Labor and its local workforce boards aimed at educating Maine job seekers and employers about the availability of no cost resources that can address their workforce development needs. The MAWI website (www.maine.gov/maineatwork) also serves as a single point of access where Maine job seekers and employers can go to obtain these resources, simplifying what had been a hard to navigate system.
